Sony Corp.. stated that two-thirds of PlayStation 3 video game console can not be connected to the online network player because of software problems. There are over 20 million PlayStation 3 users are affected by this problem, but not including the PS3 slim version, according to Sony Corp. spokesman gaming unit, Satoshi Fukuoka. Fukuoka added, they are fixing the problem.
Software malfunction in the PS3 game console is happening in the PS3 clock function, and displays an error message and makes players can not sign-in. “This problem will not last long, and repairs could more quickly. Impact of that problems can be overcome since the sales of Sony PS3 console games machine is still safe.” Added Yuji Fujimori, an analyst at Barclays Capital.
The sales of PlayStation 3 after 25 percent discount become $300 in August, and then introduced PS3 slim version in September 2009 last year, sales rise 90 percent to 726,000 in December 2009. Meanwhile, from 2006 to 2009, according to Sony website, PS3 sales to reach 33.5 million units.
